This is my hometown. A city of two hundred thousand people, pulsating but still laid back due to its warm climate. Temperatures can reach up to 38 degrees Celsius in summer and in winter it is the mildest place. All up – climate wise – Freiburg has it all, lots of sunny days, a bit of snow and …lots of sunny days...

Transport: Main station connecting to major cities in Europe, great local tram and bus network (tickets DM 10,-/day or single tickets DM 3,-) 
Activities: sightseeing, walking, hiking (black forest), enjoying the flair of a university city, theatre, pubs & music clubs, cafes.
Major Sights: "Muenster" (medieval cathedral, with gothic and late roman influences), Markets around the Muenster open on Sat & Sun 7am-14pm.

"Baechle", channels embedded in to the cobble stone paths in the city, build in the middle ages to provide water for cattle and serve as a open sewer.

Rathaus (City Hall), 1896, interesting interior worth a visit.
