May 2001 - Our route: Paris, Bordeaux and Arcachon. This page will document the Bordeaux - Arcachon leg of the trip. Arcachon is a small retirement-beach town right at the atlantic ocean and about fiftyfive kilometres west of Bordeaux (the oh-so famous wine city). 8 kilometres South of Arcachon there is a 2 Kilometre long sand dune (100m high) and some II WW concrete bunker relicts. So, lots to see and sandy beaches to enjoy.
