We reached Florence via a 9 hr train ride and got to Santa Maria Novella in the afternoon. We had hot wheather (32 degrees celcius). Florence is a very picturesque but tourist filled city. Many Museums require bookings in advance or 2 hr waiting times. However, despite the high prices and tourist atmosphere, you can enjoy the cities architecture and surroundings (gardens and mountainous landscape). The campsite Campeggio Michelangelo is quite good. Sleeping under olive trees and sharing zour experiences with others at the campsite's cafeteria in the evenning while watching the sunset over the city was a nice roundup for the day.
