Let’s
start with the usual: with 1493m, the Feldberg is the
highest mountain of the Schwarzwald (Black Forest mountain
range). The actual county of Feldberg was formed in 1971.

time of the year is fine nice views in Winter
(December-February), the Feldberg skiing slope develops into
a bit of a sludgy, muddy area in summer - maybe not the best
time? - our visit was on 15th Jan. 2001. |
| Transport: |
Trains
from Freiburg run every hour to Baerental station (967m),
takes about 45min. From there catch the bus to the
Feldberger Hof. Tickets are DM10 for a day-ticket available
from the Automats at the main train station or on the buses
and trams. |
| Activities: |
Skiing,
Snowboarding (rental gear available at ok rates),
tobogganing, circuit walks, hiking, hang-gliding. |
